WoW sponsors fun, welcoming ski events all season long designed to bring people together, improve skills, and celebrate life on snow.
At Women of Winter (WoW), our mission goes beyond winter sports — we believe in nurturing the dreams of young girls passionate about ski racing. Since the 2016-2017 season, the WoW Scholarship has offered a monetary annual award to a deserving girl, helping to break down financial barriers and fuel her journey toward excellence on and off the slopes.
In partnership with the Mount Mansfield Ski Academy, our scholarship committee carefully selects recipients based on financial need, academic and athletic potential, and positive character traits. We proudly support girls in 7th or 8th grade who demonstrate motivation, resilience, and a commitment to reaching their highest potential both as students and athletes.
Each year’s recipient has flourished — excelling academically, growing athletically, and becoming an inspiring member of the community. Their heartfelt thank-you notes reveal how this scholarship has boosted their confidence and enabled them to chase their dreams fearlessly. Many go on to earn additional scholarships, fueled by the initial support from WoW.
Thanks to the generous donations of our members, WoW continues to invest in the future of young women racers. In the 2024-2025 season, we awarded $2,000 to a dedicated seventh grader who’s making remarkable strides and taking a bold step forward by joining the boarding program at MMA.
